While most people offer discounts on Black Friday, we like to do something that really counts. Each year, we come up with a creative way to make the world a happier place, one pair of socks at a time.
Feet up, trees up!
Black Friday is usually about dashing around searching for the best deals, but with ChattyFeet, you can put your feet up and do something great instead.
This year (2025), we invited you to turn Black Friday green by growing more than your sock collection. For every pair of ChattyFeet socks purchased, we promised to plant a tree through Treeapp to support a mangrove reforestation project in Brazil. In total, we’ll be planting 800 trees – what a tree-mendous result!
This isn’t the first time we’ve done something different with the day. Here’s a round-up of the alternative Black Friday campaigns we’ve dreamt up over the past five years.
Warm Feet, Cool Earth (2024)
In 2024, we created an offer to warm your heart and your toes. Every pair of ChattyFeet socks sold supported Cool Earth, an international NGO working with Indigenous peoples and local communities to protect rainforests – nature's own cooling system for Earth. In total, we raised £1,000 for the charity. Find out more
Be a Secret Sock Santa (2022 + 2023)
In 2022 and 2023, we saw Black Friday as an opportunity to transform our customers into Secret Sock Santas, just in time for Christmas. For every pair of socks purchased, we donated two pairs to Crisis, the charity dedicated to ending homelessness. Over the two years we ran this campaign, we donated 3,800 pairs of socks to Crisis. Put a sock in it! (2021)
Deals. Offers. Mass consumption. It could only be Black Friday, 2021. In the midst of the pandemic, we decided we needed to do things differently – telling Black Friday to #PUTASOCKINIT with a feel-good campaign. For each pair of socks purchased in our online store, we donated two pairs to Crisis to support homeless people in the UK. We sent more than 2,000 pairs in total. Find out more
Do good, feel great (2020)
The pandemic had just hit, and everyone was miserable. So, in 2020, we decided to turn Black Friday into Giving Back Friday and do something worth smiling about. We donated 20% of our sales from our online store to Crisis, so that everyone could do good while feeling great in a brand-new pair of ChattyFeet socks. Find out more
