We’re on a mission to make the world a happier place from the feet up.
This is how it all began.

We first met when we were both studying design in London. The idea for ChattyFeet actually came to us one night at a party with friends. We were joking around and started to ponder a very important question: What if our socks could talk?

The following morning, in the cold light of day, the idea still made us both smile and so we decided to create a prototype. It was very basic – a simple doodle on a white sock – but it had us both giggling, so we knew the concept worked.

The Story Behind ChattyFeet - Prototype

An idea with legs
We were excited to get started and it wasn’t long before we brought our first characters to life. They were MurdocMr. GrrrrilProf Brian Sox and Miko -looking good fellas!

After that, it’s safe to say we had a few teething problems. We underestimated just how much thought was needed to get the characters, fabric and timings exactly right. But we pulled our socks up and received our first order from the manufacturer. With the finished product in our hands (and on our feet!) things started to fall into place.

We began trading at Camden Market and learnt so much there. Just hearing people saying the name ChattyFeet and seeing their reactions to our characters was priceless. Even on the coldest of days, our excitement kept us warm!

Talking the talk
The ChattyFeet family has grown a fair bit since those chilly days on the market. Kate Middle-Toe was featured on Instagram by British Vogue, while Frida Callus appeared in The Guardian. One of our most exciting days as a business was when the Tate Modern Shop agreed to sell our Artist Collection.

Today, we have an entire sock drawer filled with characters, as well as paper models, enamel pins and plenty of cheeky faces in the pipeline. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and just love seeing people having fun with ChattyFeet. We hope you’re one of them!
